Queensland Public Health Sector Certified Agreement 2019

The Queensland Public Health Sector Certified Agreement 2019 was officially signed on 1 July 2019 between Queensland Health and key health unions. This agreement sets out the terms and conditions of employment for public health sector employees across the state of Queensland.

The agreement covers a wide range of employees, including doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, and administrative staff. It recognizes the unique challenges of working in the healthcare sector, and aims to provide fair and equitable working conditions for all employees.

One of the key features of the agreement is the introduction of a new classification structure for nurses and midwives. This structure aims to improve career pathways and ensure that nurses and midwives are appropriately rewarded for their skills and experience.

The agreement also includes a 3% pay increase for all employees in the first year, followed by annual increases of 2.5% for the following three years. This is in line with the Queensland Government`s commitment to providing fair and reasonable wages for public sector employees.

In addition to improving wages and working conditions, the agreement also includes provisions for better workplace health and safety. This includes the establishment of a new safety committee, which will work to identify and address workplace hazards.

Overall, the Queensland Public Health Sector Certified Agreement 2019 is a significant step forward for public healthcare in the state. It acknowledges the important work done by healthcare professionals and provides fair and equitable conditions for all employees. As such, it is an important milestone in ensuring the continued provision of high-quality healthcare in Queensland.
